Katharina Lebedew

Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, raised in Berlin. Katharina Lebedew — known as Kashka — began sports acrobatics at the age of eight, becoming a five-time German Champion in handstand acrobatics and a Junior World Champion. Since 2010 she has created new forms of performance for variety theatres and circus productions worldwide — from handstand and contemporary dance to aerial hair suspension. Her movement language draws on the graceful, ever-changing dynamics of amphibians, defying gravity and genre alike.
