Katharina Lebedew

Kashka is Berlin's five-time German Champion and Junior World Champion in handstand acrobatics — a mat prodigy who traded gravity for the stage, and the stage for the air.

Since 2010 she has built new forms of performance for variety theatres and circus productions worldwide — handstand, contemporary dance, aerial hair suspension — with a movement language borrowed from amphibians: graceful, ever-changing, defying gravity and genre alike. Berlin taught her to bend the rules; the world has been watching her break them ever since.
